Redbourn Golf Club is close to junction 9 of the Ml on the Redbourn bi-pass, in the beautiful countryside of Hertfordshire. We encourage children from a young age to obtain the best possible start to their golfing career by introducing them to the game via the nationally recognized: -

‘Golf-Foundation’ passport programme

The Junior Golf Passport is a comprehensive coaching program that PGA instructors can use to structure learning, monitor progress and reward achievement. Young golfers are taught about the five core elements of the game and are presented with targets to work towards that get progressively more challenging.

The ‘Golf Foundation at Redbourn Golf Club caters for boys and girls aged between 5 and 17. Once players have gained a reasonable standard in their lessons they can join our weekly Wednesday evening roll-up sessions on the par 3 Kinsbourne 9 hole course.

These evenings run from the first Wednesday in April to the last Wednesday in September and the players are issued with a par 3 course handicap after their first round. They are then eligible to play in the monthly medal competition on the last Wednesday of each month. We encourage everyone to work hard and improve their skill and ability and to eventually make the move to the main 18 hole course with confidence.

When players attain a certain skill level reflected by their handicap and maturity they will be ready to join our junior team and play in matches both at home and away, gaining valuable experience in dealing with new and different courses.

We strongly urge players to follow a pathway to county success which begins with the Futures Tour, a set of county run tournaments for six to eleven year olds which should lead them to eventually earn a place in one of the county academy squads and finally if talented enough into the county team.
